{this moment} on two continents! 15 March 2013

{This moment} on two continents! occurred as my South African friend Vanessa and I took our boys shopping - in two different hemispheres. Unbeknownst to each other we both snapped pictures of our boys during the expedition, and then felt compelled to share them. This moment of serendipity led us to the idea that it would be fun to share with the world our experience of raising babies - as dear friends - living on different continents. We may live on opposite sides of the globe with different seasons and different cultures, but we share the same passion for the outdoors and the same love of this adventure called motherhood! So with that said - we hope to continue to do tandem posts - as often as is convenient - and share our experience - with or without words - for all to enjoy.

Incidentally, our boys Ruben and Aidan were born five days apart in November of 2011.

One of my very last posts on my previous blog, The Triant Trio, was about baking a birthday cake while we waited for baby Aidan to be born! It was truly an unbelievable thing to share a pregnancy with Vanessa on the other side of the world (with the help of Skype)!  It has also been amazing to watch our boys grow "together" from this far apart.  Now you can watch them too!

(Many thanks again to the Soule Family for their inspiration and impetus for this new ritual in our lives)

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - some words :-) capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.
Miles & Ruben - United States

Aidan - South Africa

And so a tradition begins ~ Each week my South African friend Vanessa and I post {this moment} as a ritual to celebrate our friendship and the bond we share as we raise our boys "together" on opposite sides of the globe.
